22 Weeks Pregnant

I will be the first to admit that I am horrible at remembering to take pictures! This would explain why it has taken me so long to post a picture of my baby bump. We took this picture this morning before we both left for work and school, as an attempt to start taking more pictures. We really need to get in the habit of this since Baby Finn is on his way!

My pregnancy has been great! I haven't been very sick at all... just a little tired:) I'm really enjoying the 2nd Trimester and can't believe that I only have 2 more weeks of it! Cody and I are still trying to figure out a name for Baby Finn. We have a couple of names we're tossing around, and we'll let eveyone know once we have it figured out! One thing we have nailed down is our theme for our nursery!!!!! We're going to do an alpahbet/polka dot/stripe theme. I have been scouring the internet for awhile looking for crib bedding and couldn't find anything. However last week, we walked into TJ Maxx and there it was with an incredible price- Baby Finn's Crib Set!!

Currently, we're both enjoying our routines of work and school. Our latest project is reroofing our garage and sun room. We've been thankful for the beautiful weather this week and hope it will continue for Friday and Saturday. Cody and his dad will be doing the majority of the work. It's so nice to have handy family members! Other than reroofing, we'll be busy with high school and Buckeye football! Hooray for fall!

16 weeks and All is Well!

We went for our 16 week appointment yesterday afternoon. We praise the Lord for a healthy baby thus far. They simply listened to the baby's heartbeat (always a joy:) and checked my vitals. The doctor said everything looks great! On Sept. 2nd (2:00pm) we will go back to the doctor for our 20 week appointment. Hopefully, at that appointment we will be able to find out if Baby Finn is a boy or a girl!

I still can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going, and by watching the great changes in my niece, it seems that things won't slow down even when Baby Finn arrives! Cody and I are truly blessed to have a great parenting example go before us- Seth and Becky (Cody's older brother and sister in law). God has provided so much insight for Cody and I as we are able to watch Seth and Becky raise Hannah. Becky is a stay at home mom and does such a fantastic job, from creating fun activities, keeping her house in order, selflessly sharing Hannah with the rest of us when they visit, to frugally investing in the needs of her family. I always thought Becky was an excellent teacher, but it's so amazing to watch her fulfill her greatest spiritual gift- homemaker and mommy! Seth is not to be outdone with such a fantastic wife. Seth works selflessly so Becky is able to stay at home with Hannah. He is a great spiritual leader and provider for his family, He loves Hannah to pieces by reading her stories, cuddling, and dare I say it... disciplining when needed. It is truly special to watch Seth interact with Hannah- what a great dad! Thanks Seth and Becky for providing Cody and I with such great wisdom already, and we can't wait to be able to impart all that we're learning on our little one!

Just a glimpse...

Last Thursday it finally hit us that there really was a baby growing inside of me! We went in to hear the heart beat and honestly, I was a little disappointed because it wasn't very loud and we didn't get to hear it that long. Still, it was so amazing to hear! As we were listening I told the doctor, "So it sounds like there's only one in there." She said she thought there was only one but since twins run on both sides of our family she ordered an ultrasound to make sure. We were ecstatic!!!!!

We went out front to schedule our ultrasound, and the nurse told us that the next appointment never showed! We were able to get the ultrasound done on that day! So we watched in awe as our little baby moved his/her hands and feet. It looked like he/she might have been sucking its thumb in one of the pictures:) We were astounded that God had already formed in our baby, who is only 10 weeks old, so many things: organs, fingernails, roots for teeth, etc! We were very thankful that there was only one baby in there this time!

Baby Finn! We were surprised to be able to see the brain and spinal cord!

Baby Finn says hello to the world!
