I HAVE A JOB!

I'm a reading intervention teacher for grades kindergarten - third. We moved to Ohio after most schools had already completed their hiring for the 2008-2009 school year. I didn't really think I would end up with a teaching job, because we moved so late. So I began subbing and applying for all kinds of other jobs. Then one day, I went on my old elementary school's website and there was a reading intervention position open. Talk about God's timing. Just when I was beginning to get frustrated about the job situation, the Master Planner began setting things into motion. I went through a process of 3 interviews and was hired in October of 2008. Just another reminder of God's providence as the same thing happened in 2005 when we moved to Kentucky. I was hired in October down in Kentucky too! God is so good!

I'm really blessed with this job because I only work with 7 students (at the most) at a time. I usually pull the students out of the classroom to reinforce reading skills and what they're learning in the regular classroom, but sometimes I go into their classroom and work with them too! It all depends on what their regular classroom teacher wants.

So I think it was around March when I received a letter from my superintendent and principal, that my teaching contract would end June 30th. I'm hired from grant money, so they couldn't renew my contract because they didn't know if the money would be there for me next year. My principal was very encouraging and supportive through the entire process, but Cody and I couldn't know anything for sure, until I received word from the board of education. Well friends, today I got my letter in the mail! I got a "call back!" So I have 10 days to respond and sign my contract! PRAISE THE OMNIPOTENT GOD!
