My first baby shower was from my wonderful friends at work. I teach in a school where most teachers are past the days of having babies, so they usually don't have baby showers. They usually give a gift card to the new mommies from the staff. Which is really great, but my wonderful friends decided that I need a baby shower:) So in the beginning of November me, and about 15-20 of the ladies from work headed to my teacher friend's house for a few hours of socializing, eating, and relaxing. It was a great time, and I'm so blessed to work with such wonderful people. (Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of the event:()
My sister Mel, my mom, and my sister-in-law Kristen, threw me a fantastic shower last weekend. I was a little nervous at first, because I don't like being the center of attention and having to open gifts in front of people but it was SO MUCH FUN! One of the greatest presents was that my best friend from college drove all the way up from Kentucky to come to my shower and we were able to spend a precious evening together before the shower! (THANK YOU SO MUCH TIFFANY!!)
The shower was a brunch with yummy pancakes, muffins, doughnuts, fruit and more! My sister had so many games planned that the shower flew by. My favorite game by far, was when my family and friends had to sort through magizines and create what they thought baby Elias would look like. (We finally decided that Baby Finn would be named Elias Lee Finnegan... Eli for short). You can imagine what some people came up with... people were mod podging one baby's mouth with another baby's face, adding cars, and so forth, but the winner had to be the one that was a picture of a bear with a baby's face on it. (We always joke that Baby Eli is going to be really hairy:) After the shower was over, Cody, Tiff, and I were sitting in our house going through all the gifts, and I thought "Wow, God sure takes care of us by not only providing material possessions for our baby, but by providing us with such great family and friends who are spiritual blessings with their love and encouragement."
My 2nd cousin, Molly, helped me open gifts. She was so patient and an excellent helper! Her mom and dad do a great job raising Molly and her brother. I hope we can be as diligent in raising Eli as they have been with their kids!
I have such a great family!
Tiff and I acting goofy as usual:)
Seeing each other four times a year just isn't enough!
Mel and I winding down after the shower:)
My friend Andrea gave me this adorable baby's book. I can't wait to write in it!
Jackie and I have been best friends since we were little. I'm so glad she's close to help me figure out how to be a mom:)
This is her precious son Moshe who happened to be the entertainment at the shower:)

it's about time you came back!!! i've missed you! wow, you guys are getting so close. can't wait to see baby eli! (love the name, by the way!)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time. Sorry that it didn't work out for us to come down that weekend. I'm so looking forward to the Finnegan family shower after Eli comes. Moshe is SO cute and how fun that Tiffany drove up from KY...a true friend! :) You are so blessed!
